Here is another youtube video relating to adjustment/installing a new TPS:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPkk6md3Sy0
This is on a 1988 US model Toyota 4Runner, but the TPS is a 4 wire.
There is not a hint of needing to use a feeler gauge in the procedure.
The host, Scott Kilmer, seems rather cursory about the exactness of the placement of the TPS once installed.
"Ball Park" would be an apt phrase to use in his method of setting up the new sensor.
It seems to work OK, and without the triggering of an error code/Check Engine Light(CEL) once the new sensor is installed.
From my own experience, I would imagine that he would do some "fine tuning" to get the shift pattern working well.
